Who we are

This site is run by Richard Renwick-Forster, trading as Pulseworks, based in Wareside, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. For any privacy question or to exercise any of the rights on this page, email [email protected].

What data we collect, and why

Enquiries. When you email us — whether via a "Start a project" link, the contact page, or any address on this site — that message goes straight to our inbox. We don't run a server-side contact form and don't store enquiries in a database. We use the information you send solely to respond to your enquiry.

Analytics — only with your consent. With your permission, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site: which pages are viewed, roughly how long you stay, what type of device and browser you're using, and approximately where in the world you're visiting from. This is aggregate usage data — it isn't used to identify you personally, and it never loads unless you accept the cookie banner.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website can ask your browser to store. Here's what this site can set:

• Your cookie choice itself — stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie), so we remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics. No expiry; you can change it any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
• Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — set only if you accept. These distinguish you from other visitors and group your pageviews into a session. Typically expire within two years, per Google's own retention settings. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.

Our legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on: consent for analytics cookies (which you give or withhold via the cookie banner), and legitimate interest for replying to enquiries you voluntarily send us.

How long we keep data

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle your request and for our own business records, in line with normal email retention. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard data retention settings.

Who we share data with

Google, as our analytics provider, if you've accepted analytics cookies. We don't sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with anyone else.

International transfers

Google Analytics may process data on servers outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, it's covered by Google's own safeguards (including standard contractual clauses recognised under UK data protection law).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the data we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time via Cookie settings. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), though we'd appreciate the chance to sort things out directly first.

Children

This site is aimed at business owners, not children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

We may update this page from time to time — the date at the top always reflects the latest version.
